"Thank you very much for such an amazing experience on your tattoo course I recently attended the 3 day tattoo training course and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic, both Paul and Louise are amazing teachers and their hospitality is second to none, they provided first class accommodation, transportation to and from the course location every day and even collected me from the local train station in Shotton. I had travelled from Ireland to Holyhead and got the train to Shotton. It was so convenient and absolutely no hassle at all to get to. The course itself was fantastic, so informative in every aspect of the tattooing process, from stencil creation to hygiene processes and everything else you can possibly think of, myself and my fellow student Nicola (who was a pleasure to work with) got to use several different types of tattoo machines from the likes of Bishop, Cheyenne, Diablo and many more, we learned to use all types of needles, liners, shaders and magnums. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of the course and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to become a tattoo artist, I am now currently setting up my own studio and have completed a few tattoos already and have gotten great feedback so far… so onwards and upwards. I felt like a child on Christmas morning digging through and cant wait to get using everything! "After having gone through a pretty tumultuous time which resulted in my deciding upon a change of career, I booked myself onto the 3 day course in April. I was apprehensive regarding staying somewhere unfamiliar and meeting new people, but I needn't have worried! Within 5 minutes of arrival I felt so relaxed and was having a fantastic time chatting with my new classmate. The course structure was explained; it soon became apparent that I was going to get so much more out of the weekend than I had dared to hope. After the first day, I had received my certificate in infection control, had tried several different types of machine and was confident that I had made the right decision in both new career and tutor. Enthused by the progress on day one, I couldn't wait to get started on day two. By the end of day two, I had created my first practice tattoo involving colour packing and had spent several valuable hours playing with technique and effects. By the end of day three, I couldn't believe how much I had learned. I didn't want to leave I was having so much fun. Paul's patience and encouragement meant that I returned home with a confidence and motivation which I had not felt for many years. As well as the tools under my belt to practice until I felt ready to jump into my new career, I had also been given invaluable advice regarding registering with the council, purchasing materials, the different machine types, etc. Accommodation was incredibly well equipped and comfortable - I slept well and felt able to socialise or hide in my room without obligation either way. I cannot praise the Magik Realm 3 day course highly enough. I am so excited about the next step. Thanks Louise and Paul!"

"Tattooing full steam ahead on people and practice skins, improving all the time, and just finishing the barn studio ready for the second environmental health visit! Yep that's right, I built a studio in the top floor of my barn planning permission is going through etc so really exciting! Still can't thank you both enough for a great time, I have used ALL of what you taught me so far and have just got my last cert from the British Red Cross. I will attach a few pics of my work. I don't usually write testimonials, but in this case I felt I had to share my experience of the Magik Realm Tattoo Training School course I attended with Paul and Louise. They were the best hosts, made me feel very welcome and relaxed. I already had a solid skill set in lining and colour theory but I was having trouble with a couple of areas including stretching and large smooth gradients. After 2 days I was well on the way to mastering both. It gave me that extra confidence that I started my own studio! I would recommend this course to the novice and apprentice alike."

"After looking at many different courses on the Internet I finally decided to book a course with Paul and Louise. I had been playing with a tattoo machine for some months and to be totally honest getting very frustrated, I could make a picture on a practice skin but they had no life or depth I knew I was missing something and they certainly weren't as tidy as they should be. To get to Paul's studio and house was supposed to be a 4hr drive from me 6.5 hrs later I was still on the motorway beginning to think was it all going to be worth it - I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT IT WAS! The next morning after a good night's sleep we got down to work, it soon became apparent that there was an awful lot I was doing wrong, from holding the machine wrong, setting it wrong and so on within a couple of hrs with Paul's guidance I was getting nice tidy accurate lines and it felt so much more comfortable and natural and I now understand the reasons behind it. when Paul explains things it is with accuracy and precision and he really doesn't mind those seemingly stupid questions we all have to ask. The next day we got on to the shading side of it, this was the bit I totally could not get to grips with, however Paul explained it in detail, showed us how and was there helping us and guiding us as the penny dropped and we were able to FINALLY do shading and give the pictures some life and depth. The course from then on just got better and better and I have come away from that course with confidence and most importantly competence. I am now going to open my own studio in January or as soon as it's ready and this is down to Paul, I can't thank him enough. If anyone is thinking about doing this course my advise would be don't hesitate, just do it, you certainly won't regret it."

It was great being able to do the infection control and gain the information about the correct procedures and safety. You were very patient with me and went at my pace so that I could take it all in. And you answered all my questions happily. I have told everyone that I spoken to about the course and recommended you to everyone. From what I have learnt I am already confident to tattoo people and am looking to have my own premises within six months. "My name is Joe, 26 years old, I attended the course as I had been putting designs and drawings together for my 5 year old son which then developed into a hobby at just a thought I had an idea to start tattooing just for something different. Finding the magic realm online I gave a call to enquire and enrol, Paul was really helpful from the off I had never even set a machine up before the course and this was no problem at all, by the end of day one I was fully knowledgeable in main aspects and confident ready to hit the skins. Day 2 we stencilled and started on a basic piece with different techniques, any questions answered with precise profession by Paul (who hasn't had a question by me yet he's failed to answer). Day 3 could not wait to get started on a more advanced piece with the skills I had learnt day 1. Finished an awesome piece and enjoyed the whole time at magic realm...the studio is second to non with wide range of machines to try out. Overall Paul and his girlfriend are genuine nice people very humble easy going and happy to help anyone with an interest in tattooing."

"I just wanted to share my experience of The Magik Realm Tattoo School. Contacted the school, I spoke to Paul, he was really nice and professional and answered all my questions comprehensively. I had reservations as I had previous booked with another school. I arrived in the local area and Paul kindly picked me up from the station and I stayed at the accommodation which I would give a 4 star rating, it was really nice and decorated and clean. There was a TV and it was nice and warm as if I was at home. The school was 5 stars for the 3 day course I did all the infection control exams and practical lessons. I had fears that I would not be good but by the time I was leaving I was amazing. Paul is there to help and guide you with the teaching he was very through and patient. He gives you space to also practice so if your nervous you can do some work alone. He gave us an excellent premium range of machines to use and I was able to quickly identify which machine was for me and I bought the same one. Learning in a small group gave me an opportunity to grow confidence quickly but also feel comfortable because I had company. I loved the fact we learned some theory and we have breaks which allows your mind to take the teaching in. I am dyslexic and even with my learning disability Paul adapted his teaching to meet my needs. I was really sad going home because it was just a wicked experience and I am definitely going back later in the year. If anyone wants to really learn how to tattoo properly and safely book onto The Magik Realm School it was worth every penny!"

I booked a course with Paul and Louise at TCM Tatoo / Magik Realm training school 28th, 29th, 30th January 2014. I had very little, or no, previous experience of tattooing other than having had a tattoo done on my ankle. The course was excellent. Paul instructed me in all the required infection control procedures to begin with along with how to set up tattoo machines and how to apply a tattoo stencil. By the end of the first day I was tattooing a simple design on practise skin. Under instruction from Paul I was able to try various tattoo machines to find out which I prefer. By the end of the course my confidence in tattooing had grown immensely. The accommodation was comfortable with TV, tea and coffee making facilities in the room and adjoining bathroom and WC. Always tea, coffee, toast and cereal available. With nearby takeaways and pubs a short walk from the premises. I went home and had the confidence to complete a refresh of a tattoo on my husband (guinea pig) which came out rather well I think. I would definitely recommend the Magik Realm Tattoo School for either beginners or the more experienced. The instruction from Paul is excellent.
